Little By Little.....Life Starts To Make Sense Again.

Know what today is ???
The trucks carrying the Sox equiptment is being loaded
at Fenway Park ( or Paahk if you're a local )
and will begin the trip to sunny Florida.
Pitchers and catchers report on Thursday.
Wooo Hooo !
In other news, we are both ill here. Brock came down with
this little half-assed cold / flu type thing last Thursday, and being as
generous as he is he gave it to me.
It features an irritating cough, chest congestion
and aching joints.
My house is a mess and although
I really want to clean it up, I have zero energy.
Oh well, I'll try to trudge along.

Retro Music Friday - Another Two Fer.

We have this ongoing debate in our house about Van Halen. More specifically, which Van Halen is the better Van Halen. It has always been my opinion that the Diamond Dave Van Halen and the Sammy Hagar Van Halen are two distinctly different bands. Separate but equal, if you will. I think the VH's songs took on a bit more mature of a feel with Sammy. While the DLR VH had more of a frat party feel to it.

Brock is steadfastly in the corner of the DLR Van Halen is the orignal and still the best VH.

So, here are two VH videos. Judge for yourself which one you prefer.

Have a great day everyone !

Perhaps Even Better Than Christmas Morning.

Guess what starts next week ? Anyone know ? Anyone ? Bueller ? Bueller ?
Thats right kids....PITCHERS AND CATCHERS REPORT FOR RED SOX SPRING TRAINING !!!!
Woooooo Hoooooo !!!!!!
I'm so excited I can hardly stand it !
I like the Pats and all, and I'm really sad that they lost the Super Bowl, but dude...give me Red Sox baseball any day of the week.
Spring training means that very soon ( not soon enough though ) windows will be permenantly open in our house, the grill will be going and Don & Jerry will be on surround sound.
And that is the only thing keeping me going through all this gray, dreary, depressing February weather.

Brock and I went to spring training in Ft. Myers a few years ago. We had a blast !

City of Palms Park
So CLAP CLAP CLAP !!! LETS GO SOX !!! WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!

Super Bowl Halftime Report By Bunny.

This is ugly. Really ugly. I can't believe Tom Brady has been sacked three times in the first half.
And where is Randy Moss and when is he going to show up to the game ? The Pats have had one interception and one fumble end in their favor and do not manage to capitalize on either of them ?! What is going on here people ?
Tom's front line needs to do a better job protecting him. The defensive line really needs to rattle Eli Manning's cage. He is a major head case and once sufficently rattled he is not likely to recover...after all he is the little brother of the biggest head case of all Peyton Manning.

The Pats need to have a few 50 yard+ bombs to Randy Moss or Wes Welker and finish off the Giants. Seriously dudes...drive the nails in Eli's coffin once and for all.
I mean really...the New York Giants ? We might as well be playing the local JV football team.

Come on Pats, get it together.

Random Thoughts.

* Brock and I decided to try "Spin" class yesterday at the Y. If you're not familiar with
"Spin " class it is basically a really intense-balls out cycling class that lasts for an hour. As if an hour of crazy-mad cycling was not enough, they crank the heat in the room to about 85 degrees so you sweat like a swine in heat. Oh. My. God. I felt pretty good when I got home after class yesterday. Today, however, is a different story. My right calf is KILLING me. My butt hurts too. Those bike seats are hard ! I'm going to try to stick with it. They have a 6AM class Monday through Friday. Hmm...lets see how motivated I am to roll into the Y @ the crack of dawn.

* I took one of my clients to Subway for lunch this afternoon and while we were sitting there enjoying our Sandwich of the Day special a Chinese girl ( maybe 6 years old or so ) walked in with her not Chinese mother. I nearly burst into tears. That snuck up on me....wasn't expecting that one.
We've resigned ourselves to the fact that we will be waiting a very long time for a child. And really, we're OK with it. I think that once one has made peace with something, whatever it is, it's like a burden off your shoulders. The uncertainy of it all, mixed with all the other options we were exploring was really making us nuts.
We went through the same thing when we trying to decide wether or not to continue with fertility treatments or adopt. Once we decided that we were going to adopt ( although it felt like adoption chose us...) it was finally peaceful in our house.
I know our baby is out there somewhere and hopefully one day she ( or he ) will find her ( or his ) way to us.
And in case some of you have not heard, there are really terrible snow storms in China right now. Many of the orphanges are having a hard time keeping food and diapers stocked. Not to mention keeping the orphanages heated.
There are some people who are going to get referrals this week and I know it must be difficult for them to know that their babies are out there going through all this.

* In case you've been living under a rock for four months....the Pats are in their fourth Super Bowl in seven years tonight. And although I am not at all concerened that they will lose....sometimes I have this little shimmer of doubt that they might not pull it off.....
then I snap out of it.....GO PATS !!!!!

* Miami Vice trivia time.....does anyone know who Sonny Crockett's ( Don Johnson )original partner was ? It was not Ricardo Tubbs ( Philip Michael Thomas ). Anyone know ? Anyone ? Anyone wanna guess ?
It was this guy. And they killed him off on the very first episode of MV.

What's In A Name ?

What Erica Means

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

Mmm....anyone think this is me ?

I thought I should put this in today's post. Brock made this for dinner, and it was gooooood. He used beef filet instead of venison though, venison is a little too gamey for me. Beef worked great, and the chopped gherkins were a pleasant surprise. I highly reccomend this. In my opinion, Jamie Oliver can do no wrong.

Retro Music Friday - Two Fer.

I thought I'd give you guys a treat today and post two videos. In case you didn't catch onto my theme here......Phil Collins ( occasionally ) had guest appearances on Miami Vice as a drug dealer.

Tell me you can't help but sing Against All Odds at the top of your lungs. What a great song !

My efforts at the gym are starting to pay off. I've already lost 2 lbs this week !
